Ingredients for the chicken marinade:

  • 09 oz Chicken Breasts (Boneless, cubed)

  • 1 tsp Light Soy Sauce

  • 1 tsp Dark Soy Sauce

  • 1 tsp Rice Vinegar

  • 1 Egg White

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 1 tsp Black Pepper

  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch

  • 2 tbsp  Plain Flour

  • Ingredients for the Tso Sauce:
  • 3 tbsp Chicken Stock

  • 1 tbsp Light Soy Sauce

  • 1 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce

  • 1 tbsp Hoisin Sauce

  • 1 tbsp Rice Vinegar

  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar

  • 1/2 tsp  Ketchup

  • 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes

  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch

  • 2 tsp  Minced Garlic

  • 1 tsp  Minced Ginger

  • 3 Dried Red Chiles (Broken)

  • Ingredients to complete the dish:
  • 1/2 cup  Vegetable Oil

  • Sesame Seeds

  • Spring Onions (Chopped)

Directions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken with light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, salt, black pepper, rice vinegar, egg white, cornstarch, and plain flour. Mix well until evenly coated and let it marinate for at least 20 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the chicken stock, rice vinegar, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, red pepper flakes, ketchup, dried red chiles, minced garlic, and minced ginger to prepare the sauce. Set aside.
  • Heat ½ cup of vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the marinated chicken pieces and fry until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  • In a separate pan over low heat, add the prepared sauce and let it cook for a few seconds until it starts to bubble.
  • Add the fried chicken to the sauce and toss well until the pieces are evenly coated
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped spring onions. Serve warm and enjoy!
