Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Finely Ground Coffee

  • 1 tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder

  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar

  • 1 tbsp Smoked Paprika

  • 2 tsp Fine Sea Salt

  • 2 tsp Garlic Powder

  • 2 tsp Onion Powder

  • 2 tsp Ground Cumin

  • 1 tsp Ground Coriander

  • 1 1/2 tsp Fresh Orange Zest (finely grated, avoiding the white pith)

  • 1 tsp Freshly Ground Black Pepper

  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano

  • 1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper (optional)

Directions

  • Finely grate the zest from a thoroughly washed orange, taking only the colored outer peel.
  • Combine the orange zest with all the remaining ingredients in a bowl.
  • Mix until evenly incorporated and use immediately for the freshest flavor.

Notes

  • Best Use: Apply generously to steak about 30–60 minutes before cooking to allow the flavors to develop.
  • Customize the Flavor: Increase cayenne for extra heat or add a little more orange zest for a brighter citrus finish.
  • Freshness Note: Since this recipe uses fresh orange zest, use it immediately or refrigerate any leftovers in an airtight container and enjoy within a few days for the best flavor.
