Ingredients
2 tbsp Light Brown Sugar
1 tbsp Smoked Paprika
1 tbsp Chili Powder
2 tsp Salt
2 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Onion Powder
1 tsp Chipotle Powder
1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
1 tsp Ground Cumin
1 tsp Mustard Powder
1 tsp Dried Oregano
½ tsp Ground Coriander
¼ tsp Cayenne Pepper (optional, for extra heat)
Directions
- Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl.
- Whisk until evenly mixed and there are no lumps.
- Transfer to an airtight spice jar.
- Store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.
Notes
- For Best Results: Use about 1 tablespoon of rub per pound (450 g) of meat, applying it evenly and letting it rest for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
- Perfect for Low & Slow: This rub develops a rich, flavorful bark on smoked meats while also working beautifully for grilling and roasting.
- Customize the Heat: Increase the chipotle powder or cayenne pepper for a spicier rub, or reduce the brown sugar for a more savory barbecue profile.
