Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Sweet Paprika

  • 1 tbsp Smoked Paprika

  • 1 tbsp Fine Sea Salt

  • 1 tbsp Garlic Powder

  • 1 tbsp Onion Powder

  • 2 tsp Ground Black Pepper

  • 2 tsp Dried Thyme

  • 2 tsp Dried Oregano

  • 1 tsp Ground Mustard

  • 1 tsp Ground Cumin

  • 1 tsp Brown Sugar (optional, but excellent for pork)

  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper

  • 1/2 tsp Ground Celery Seeds

  • 1/2 tsp Ground Allspice

  • 1/2 tsp Ground Bay Leaves

Directions

  • Add all ingredients to a spice grinder or food processor.
  • Grind until the herbs are finely blended and the rub has a uniform texture.
  • Store in an airtight spice jar away from heat and sunlight for up to 6 months.

Notes

  • For Best Results: Pat the pork dry, lightly coat it with oil or mustard, then apply the rub generously and let it rest for at least 30 minutes, or refrigerate overnight for deeper flavor.
  • Perfect for Low & Slow: This seasoning shines on smoked pork shoulder, ribs, and other slow-cooked cuts, developing a rich, flavorful bark.
  • Versatile Beyond Pork: Try it on chicken, roasted potatoes, grilled vegetables, or even sprinkle it over homemade fries for a smoky Creole twist.
