In Thai street food culture, sauces aren’t just condiments, but they’re the heartbeat of every bite. This spicy wonton dipping sauce was born from that philosophy: bold, fragrant, and unapologetically flavorful. Inspired by the kind of sauce you’d find drizzled over steaming dumplings from a Bangkok night market cart, it’s rich with umami from soy and oyster sauces, sweetness from palm sugar, and that addictive, lip-tingling heat from chili oil. The garlic and spring onion bring it all together in a perfect harmony of heat and depth. Just one dip, and you’ll wonder how your dumplings ever lived without it.

  • 2 tbsp  Chili Oil

  • 1 clove Garlic (minced)

  • 1 tsp Toasted Sesame Seeds

  • 1 tbsp Spring Onion (green part finely chopped)

Directions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients.
  • Mix well until everything is thoroughly incorporated and the sugar has dissolved.
  • Let it sit for 10–15 minutes, allowing the flavors to deepen.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

  • This recipe is perfect for serving 2 to 4 people alongside dumplings, spring rolls, grilled meats, or even drizzled over noodles.
  •  Want more heat? Add extra chili oil or a pinch of crushed Thai chili flakes. Prefer a smoother sauce? Strain it before serving.
  • This sauce is best used fresh, but can be stored in an airtight glass jar in the fridge for up to 3 days. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to develop beautifully.
