Ingredients

  • 1 cup Chopped Cilantro

  • 1 cup Chopped Flat-leaf Parsley

  • 4 Serrano Peppers (Chopped)

  • 3 cloves Garlic (Chopped)

  • 2 tsp Fresh Ginger (Chopped)

  • 1 tsp Toasted Coriander Seeds

  • 1 tsp Toasted Cumin Seeds

  • 1 tsp  Toasted Black Peppercorns

  • 2 tsp Fresh Lemon Zest

  • 2 tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice

  • 1/2 tsp Salt

  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil

  • 2-3 tbsp Water (Optional)

Directions

  • Add all the ingredients to a blender jar.
  • Blend well to a smooth sauce.
  • Enjoy fresh!

Notes

  • No whole spices? No problem. Substitute with ¾ teaspoon each of ground cumin, coriander, and black pepper for convenience. While toasted whole spices give a bolder flavor, the ground versions work well in a pinch.
  • Replace some or all of the serrano peppers with deseeded jalapeños or milder green chilies. A half-serrano, half-jalapeño combo is perfect for a balanced kick.
  • Blend in a spoonful of Greek yogurt, ripe avocado, or tahini for a creamy variation that’s perfect as a dip or sandwich spread.
  • Turn this zesty sauce into a flavorful marinade by mixing it with a little extra olive oil or yogurt. It works beautifully with chicken, fish, tofu, or grilled vegetables.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 5–7 days. It also freezes beautifully in small portions for future use!
