Our version of salmon seasoning is a versatile blend of robust spices and herbs that can be included in many of your favorite salmon recipes. The spicy, smoky, and piquant flavors are ideal for grilling, roasting, baking, pan-searing, or air-frying this fish.

Ingredients

  • Spices & Herbs:
  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Sweet paprika

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Smoked paprika

  • 1/4 tsp 1/4 Cayenne pepper

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Chili powder

  • 1 tsp 1 Garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Black pepper powder

  • 1/4 tsp 1/4 Dried thyme

  • 1/4 tsp 1/4 Dried rosemary

  • Other ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Dried lemon zest

  • 1/2 – 1 tsp 1/2 – 1 Kosher salt

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Light brown sugar

  • Equipment
  • 1 1 Mixing bowl

  • 1 1 Wooden spoon/ Small whisk

  • 1 1 Air-tight jar

Directions

  • Add all the ingredients in a small mixing bowl using a dry wooden spoon or a small whisk. Mix well until everything is well-combined.
  • Coat salmon filets with olive oil and rub this seasoning generously or incorporate it into a marinade.
  • Store any leftover seasoning in an air-tight container and keep for up to 06 months.

Notes

  • You can also use fresh lemon zest instead of dried. But if so, you will not be able to keep this seasoning blend for a long time.
  • Skip cayenne pepper if you don’t want extra heat. Or else, use hot paprika.
  • This salmon seasoning can be used to flavor roasted, grilled, fried, or baked salmon.
  • Use lime juice for an additional depth of flavor.
