Ingredients

  • 1 tsp Cornstarch

  • 2 tsp Water

  • 1/2 cup Fresh Pineapple Juice

  • 1/4 cup Rice Vinegar (Sub: Apple Cider Vinegar)

  • 3 tbsp Ketchup

  • 3 tbsp Brown Sugar (Sub: Honey)

  • 2 tbsp Orange Marmalade

  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce

  • 1 tsp Minced Garlic

  • 1 tsp Freshly Grated Ginger

  • 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes

Directions

  • In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch with water. Mix well and set aside.
  • In a saucepan, whisk together pineapple juice, rice vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, orange marmalade, and soy sauce until smooth.
  • Stir in garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the sauce is hot.
  • Slowly whisk the cornstarch slurry into the simmering sauce. Continue stirring for 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
  • Remove from the heat and let the sauce cool down as it thickens further.
  • Use as preferred or store the sauce in a well-fitting glass jar and keep in the refrigerator for up to 10-14 days.
