  • 1 ½ cups Brown Sugar

  • ½ cup  Fresh Orange Juice

  • 1 tbsp Fresh Orange Peel (cut into strips or finely grated)

  • 1 Cinnamon Stick (3–4 inches)

  • 3 whole Star Anise

  • 6  whole Cloves

  • 5 Cardamom Pods (lightly crushed)

  • 1 tsp Black Peppercorns

  • ½ tsp Freshly Grated Nutmeg

  • 1 piece Fresh Ginger (1-inch piece, sliced)

Directions

  • Combine water, sugar, orange juice, and orange zest in a saucepan. Heat over medium until sugar dissolves.
