Ingredients for the cornstarch slurry:

  • 1 tsp Cornstarch

  • 1 tbsp Cold Water

  • Ingredients for the sauce:
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter

  • 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger (finely grated)

  • 1/4 cup Honey

  • 3/4 tsp  Red Pepper Flakes

  • 1/2 tbsp Hot Sauce

  • 1/2 tbsp Soy Sauce

  • 3/4 tsp Fresh Lime Juice

Directions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and cold water to make a slurry. Set aside.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.
  • Add the grated ginger and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Reduce the heat to low and stir in the honey, mixing gently to combine.
  • Add the red pepper flakes, hot sauce, and soy sauce. Stir well and let the mixture simmer for 1–2 minutes to develop flavor.
  • Stir in the lime juice to brighten the sauce.
  • Slowly pour in the cornstarch slurry and cook for another minute, or until the sauce thickens and turns glossy.
  • Turn off the heat and taste the sauce. Adjust sweetness, spice, or acidity as needed.
  • Let the sauce cool slightly before using, or transfer it to a clean jar or squeeze bottle. Refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
